Time-Out in SalzburgerLand

Bischofshofen is situated approximately 50 km south of Salzburg city, nestled amidst Salzburg's stunning mountains.

Holiday delights suited for all, especially families

Bischofshofen is an excellent starting point for hikers looking to explore the surrounding mountains along the many hiking trails.

Embark on a lovely family hike to the impressive Gainfeld waterfall, up to the old castle ruins Bachsfall, or explore the UNESCO Global Geopark "Ore of the Alps". After an adventurous hike, you can enjoy memorable views of the Salzachtal valley.

This peaceful region is renowned for offering more personal hospitality. Smaller, family-run guest-houses are more common here, ensuring a more familiar & authentic holiday experience.

Ski Jump & Ore of the Alps

The "Paul Außerleitner" ski jump is world renowned as the venue of the final event of the international Four Hills Tournament. The impressive ski jump has become a year-round attraction. A ski jumping education trail leads from the city centre directly to the ski jump while informing interested readers about this fascinating sport. After all, the final ski jumping event draws in more than 20,000 fans to Bischofshofen each year.

The visitor centre of the UNESCO Ore of the Alps Geopark is the best place to find out more about the interesting history of ore mining & its importance for this entire region. A memorable highlight is the recreated walk-in mining tunnel.
